Co-founder and CEO
Dr. Anton Maximov co-founded Neuresta with the vision that future treatments of neurological disorders will be based on targeted approaches that do not interfere with our normal cognitive functions. Dr. Maximov has been in the field of neuroscience for over 25 years. He obtained a M.S. in biophysics from Saint-Petersburg State University and Ph.D. in biology from the Institute of Cytology of Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1998, Dr. Maximov moved to the United States for postdoctoral training at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He studied the molecular bases of chemical neurotransmission in the laboratory of Dr. Thomas C. Südhof. In 2008, Dr. Maximov became a faculty member at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. He directs an interdisciplinary NIH-funded research program aimed at understanding the mechanisms of neural circuit development, function, and dysfunction. Dr. Maximov’s discoveries have been featured in top tier biomedical research journals. He has been invited to speak around the world and has received several awards.
